SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
HOT-R BALLOON FLIGHTS WARNS YOU OF THE FOLLOWING FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY:

GENERAL
- Follow the instructions given by the Hot-R team.
- Smoking/vaping is prohibited before, during, and after the balloon flight.
- You may not bring dangerous goods, knives, bags, or backpacks on board.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and casual clothing.
- Preferably also wear a cap. This will protect you from the heat of the burner.
FIRE
Fire extinguishers can be found on the trailer and in the pilot's compartment of the basket. In case of fire, proceed as follows:
- Remove the fire extinguisher from the holder.
- Release the safety catch.
- Aim at the base of the fire.
- Squeeze the lever.
IN CASE OF FIRE ON THE GROUND:
Run as fast as possible into the wind and seek shelter.
IN CASE OF FIRE IN THE AIR:
- Use the fire extinguishers and fire blanket when instructed by the pilot.
- Assume landing positions.
- Remain in the basket until the pilot gives permission to leave.
FIRST AID:
First aid kits are located in the car (driver's door) and in the pilot's compartment of the balloon basket.
LIABILITY:
Participants in the balloon flight accept the risk of minor injuries and damage to clothing, personal belongings, equipment, etc.
Hot-R's liability never exceeds the amount paid out in the relevant case under Hot-R's liability insurance.
ASSEMBLY, BOARDING, AND DURING FLIGHT
Assembling the Balloon
- Keep away from the fan
- Stay behind the placed cones
- Do not stand between the car and the basket
- Stay away from the rope stretched between the car and the basket
Boarding
- Begin boarding when the pilot gives permission
- Be aware that the basket can move
- Help other passengers board
- Use the boarding gates
- After boarding, hold the rope loops and bend your knees slightly
- Never disembark before the pilot gives permission
During Flight
- Silence your mobile phone
- Stay in your own compartment
- Do not throw anything overboard
- Do not touch gas hoses, instruments, control lines, and gas valves
LANDING
Before Landing
- Stow Equipment
- Stow Plastic Bottles
- Do not wear a camera, scarf, or rope around your neck
- Hide Long Hair Under Your Clothing
During Landing
- Stay in Landing Position
- Keep your knees slightly bent
- Hold firmly onto the rope loops
- Remain in this position until the pilot gives you instructions
- Remain in the basket until the pilot indicates you may disembark, even if the basket is tilted
After Landing
You are a guest of the landowner. Therefore, please behave like one and do not leave any litter behind.
You are invited to help pack the balloon.
FOR FOLLOWERS
Followers are only allowed onto the landing area with permission from the Hot-R crew.
They may only enter the area on foot. Follower cars must remain on public roads at all times.
FIT TO FLY
Hot air ballooning is an outdoor activity, and it is recommended that you are fit. If you have any complaints that could affect the safety of your balloon flight, consult your doctor. If in doubt, always contact us.
Our experienced pilots reserve the right to refuse you access if there are any doubts about your safety or that of your fellow passengers.
PREGNANT
Are you pregnant? Congratulations! To avoid any risks, we advise you to postpone your hot air balloon ride until after your pregnancy. Still want to participate? (at your own risk) Always consult your midwife beforehand.
